# Workflows

A **Workflow** determines the order in which recipients receive and act on a document.

Types of workflows:

* **Serial** – Recipients sign one after another in sequence. (e.g., Legal → CFO)
* **Parallel** – All recipients can sign independently at the same time.
* **In-Person** – Face-to-face signing on your device, in real time.

**Example:**

* Use *Serial* when a Legal team must approve before the CFO signs.
* Use *Parallel* when multiple department heads can sign simultaneously.
* Use *In-Person* when finalizing documents with a client in a meeting.
