Hybrid Signing

What is "Hybrid Signing" and how can it be used in envelopes?

In the emSigner application previously, users had to choose either serial or parallel workflows exclusively. With this Hybrid Signing the initiator can choose the type of flow for every signatory in the workflow. This provides increased flexibility in managing complex document approval scenarios.

Step 1: Click on “Create an Envelope” from the left side panel.

You will be navigated to the screen where you can upload one or more documents for signing.

Step 2: Select who will sign the envelope. You can choose to sign the document yourself, sign along with others, or send the envelope only to other participants for signing.

Step 3: Multiple participants can be configured with different workflow types within the same envelope. In this example, the first three signatories are set to sign in Parallel, allowing them to sign simultaneously, while the final signatory is set to Serial, enabling them to sign only after the parallel signatories have completed.

Step 4: After signatories are configured, signature placeholders and other required fields can be placed on the document for each participant.

Step 5: After placing signature fields, optional settings such as watermark, reminder preferences, workflow language, email message, and supporting document attachments can be configured before initiating the document for signing.

Note: The signer order diagram visually represents the signing flow. Participants configured for parallel signing are distinctly marked, making it easy to identify signatories who can sign simultaneously versus those in a sequential order.
