# Encrypt

**Step 1:** Log in to the emSigner account using your **Admin User Name** and **Password**

Enter the password to login into the account.

**Step 2:** Click on the Settings tab present at the top.

**Step 3**: Under ***Settings*** click on the ‘***Encrypt***‘ option.

**Step 4**: You will be navigated to *Encrypt Files and Documents* page, where you will have an option to select file or folder. Click ‘***Select File/ Select Folder***‘ to locate the source file or folder to be encrypted and then click ‘**O*****pen**‘. (*&#x4E;ote: There will be a radio button to select “Single/ Multiple”. If you select Single, you will be able to load a file. If you select Multiple, you will be able to load more than one file within a folder.)

**Step 5**: Click ‘***Select File***‘ to locate the destination folder to save the encrypted file

**Step 6**: Click ‘***Select Certificate***‘ to locate the certificate and then click “*open”***.** This is to select the certificate through which you want to encrypt the document.

**Step 7**:  Now click on the **‘*****Encrypt Now*****‘** button and you will be able to encrypt the document.
