# eStamping Online

Online e-stamping, also known as electronic stamping, refers to the process of purchasing and generating stamp paper or digital stamps electronically. It replaces the traditional method of physically obtaining physical stamp paper from government offices or authorized vendors.

emSigner provides an online platform or portal for e-stamping. Users, including individuals, businesses, and legal entities, can access this platform to initiate the e-stamping process.

You can initiate a document for online eStamping in a flow.

**Step 1:** Upload a document for signing.

**Step 2:** Enable eStamping.

**Step 3:** Select Online eStamping as the stamp type, optionally specify the stamp amount to be collected from participants, choose the contract type (Operational or Financial), and select the applicable state before applying the stamp.

**Step 4:** After enabling eStamping, users can configure document-specific stamp details such as the Article Code and Consideration Price. Based on these inputs, the applicable stamp duty amount is calculated and applied to the document.

**Step 5:** Participants are added to the envelope at this stage. For online eStamping, the first participant can be an internal or external user, while the second participant must be an Admin user.

**Step 6:** In addition to workflow and signing settings, stamp-related participant details must be configured at the user level. For online eStamping, the first participant’s relationship to the party is always set as Debtor, while the second participant’s relationship is set as Creditor.

The signing order diagram indicates that the document remains pending with NeSL until the first party completes the signing process.

**Step 8:** The first party receives an email from NeSL to complete the signing process. Once the first party completes the signing, the eStamped document is automatically sent to the second party through emSigner for further signing.
