# Signing the document

### Signing the Document 

Once the initiator completes all prior steps—adding participants, configuring workflow settings, and defining additional workflow options—they can proceed to sign the document.

#### What Happens When You Click **Next**

The initiator is taken through the signing step.The visual appearance of the applied signature is determined by the signature configuration completed in the Signature Placeholders and Fields configuration stage.

During that configuration stage, the user defines how the signature should appear on the document, including:

* The signer’s full name
* The **signature style**, such as:
  * Sample signature styles
  * Drawn signature
  * Uploaded signature image
  * Previously saved signatures (My Signatures)

After the initiator signs, a confirmation screen is displayed with a success message indicating that:

* The document has been signed successfully by the initiator.
* The document has been sent to other participants for their action.

This screen confirms that the workflow is progressing and that the next signer(s) have been notified.

#### Available Actions on the Completion Screen

The initiator can choose one of the following actions:

**Initiate Another Envelope**

* Starts a new signing workflow immediately.
* Useful when sending multiple documents in succession.

**Go to Dashboard**

* Redirects the user to the Dashboard.
* Allows quick access to ongoing, completed, or pending envelopes.

**View Signed Document**

* Opens the current document in a read-only view.
* Shows the initiator’s completed signature along with signature metadata.
* The document remains in a **partially signed state** until all participants complete their signing.

#### Key Notes

* At this stage, the document is **not yet fully completed** unless all participants have already signed.
* Subsequent participants will receive notifications (email or platform-based, depending on user type) to complete their signatures.
* The initiator can continue to track the document’s progress from **Dashboard**/**Doc Store**.
